 The Itteringham Village Shop and Café has an exciting new role available helping our community and customers from near and far 

 A varied and important role in the Village Shop coordinating all our varied activity for a minimum of 10 /12 hours a week 

We are a successful ‘not for profit ‘community association with a mixture of wonderful committed part time staff and volunteers serving the community with a great range of groceries / fresh food / local produce / an array of gifts and a burgeoning cafe.

Open 7 days a week we are a vital hub and lifeline to our loyal local customers and visitors with a shop having been on this site since 1637. 

The individual who is successful will be critical to the smooth, efficient and excellent service we provide to our surrounding community. 

This is a key role, helping coordinate the shop activities and this individual would be pivotal in supporting the team. 

 Key aims and tasks:

* Helping our shop continue to thrive and develop its role within the local community 

* Developing the Cafe, delighting our customers with it’s offer / menu and service 

* Keeping our stocks on shelf, up to date, appropriate and attractive for our customers 

* Working very collaboratively with all our staff (both part time and volunteers), our committee and our gift and design team

* Working with the committee to ensure we reach the required profitability. This includes looking at our pricing strategy so we meet the expectations of our customers and make the required margins to keep us going 

* Managing the staff rota for daily managers / part time staff and volunteers to ensure it works for everyone 

* Ensuring Our loyal suppliers are communicated with and provide timely deliveries

* Reviewing and implementing processes so we continue to follow and excel at Food Standards and Health and Safety.

The Itteringham Village Shop 

 IMPORTANT NOTES : 

The primary role of the successful candidate will be coordinating the success of the shop and cafe on a day to day basis rather than serving in the shop. 

Ideally a minimum of 10/12 hours a week, and once familiar with the Shop, its ethos and what is required there will be opportunity to work at least some of these hours flexibly from home. 

Pay for this role will be £15 an hour .

The individual in this role should however be fully able and willing to provide emergency and holiday cover for our Daily shop Managers plus additional hours when needed 

Emergency cover hours are currently paid at £10 an hour.

All staff are sponsored to complete Level 2 Food Safety training and relevant allergen training.
